Black & White Images
I have always enjoyed taking black and white photos. Many people set their cameras to black and white but I find working in conjunction with Lightroom, Photoshop, tonality and advanced dodge and burn creates many effects which are not obtainable with this simple setting. All of my photos and/or combination of photos use one or more of these effects along with additional textures, images, and fonts. These are applied with the many layers and masks to obtain the final project. Enjoy!
Spring Is Upon Us
This black and white photos is a composite of two photos. One is of a church courtyard at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Henderson, Nevada and the other is taken at the Bellagio's Spring Flower Show 2015. In addition two textures have been added and masking was used in Photoshop PSCC2015 to release the underlying photos. This photo was chosen to be published in Special Edition March 2016 Creative B&W Photo Artistry.
THE CHAPEL
This is a photo from a little wooden chapel inside the biotanical gardens near Kansas City called the Powell Gardens. On the Chapel Trail you will be able to enter the Marjorie Powell Allen Chapel. I made this black and white showing the wonderful lines and window reflections inside. The basic photo was opened in Lightroom and then transfered to PSCC2015 using dodge and burn on a layer. Enjoy!
LEFT OVER FROM THE MINING DAY
This photo converted to black and white is from the Hotel at Nelson's Landing outside of Las Vegas. The original town was washed out by a flood but a photography opps village has been built between the Colorado River and the new Town of Nelson. This is a photo taken inside which has a collection of antique mining objects among historical memoribilia.
